gran turismo vs. gran turismo 2

Gran Turismo was one of the best driving games on the Playstation but now the guys at Polyphony Digital have come out with a sequel to Gran Turismo it is Gran Turismo 2 In this review I will be comparing Gran Turismo with Gran Turismo 2. To start I will be talking about the differences in the layout and the courses. 
On Gran Turismo the lay out is very bad with all of the manufactures all on the main screen. On Gran Turismo 2 the lay out is much much better, the manufactures are built in to different parts of a town (North, East, South). The city is separated like this to place the better manufactures away from the bad ones. Not saying that Nissan and Toyota are bad manufactures but they don't have better cars than BMW or Audi.On Gran Turismo there are only 11 courses and they are laid out better than Gran Turismo 2 by have Sunday cup were you have all three races one after another. Whereas on Gran Turismo 2 the Sunday cup you can do the hardest race first which is good but at the end you can not win a championship bonus. Gran Turismo 2 has got more courses 28 in total but to do all theses you need to do the new licenses. The new licenses are international ones on Gran Turismo you gust had 3 licenses but now on Gran Turismo 2 you have 5 they are B and A licenses and A, B and C international they are very hard and in the two days that I have had this game I have got A, B licenses and international C licenses and half way two get international B licenses. 
There are 10 manufacturers on Gran Turismo are Nissan, Aston Marton, Chrysler, TVR, Mazda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda, Subaru, Chevrolet. That is a good line up of cars, but there are over 600 cars and 33 of the world's top manufacturers in gran turismo 2.One of the biggest differences between the two games in that Gran Turismo has only one disc but on Gran Turismo 2 there are 2 discs one has the Arcade mode and one has the GT mode. In the end Gran Turismo 2 has turned out to be the best out of the two with a better lay out more tracks and more cars to choose from. So if you liked GT, then you should go out and get gran turismo 2 hAz to the top back to the cool stuff... directory |
